Supporting young people’s pursuits by addressing everyday difficulties.
MIZUIROWorks is a group run by two university students to support young people in creative work, learning and new pursuits. We start with everyday difficulties experienced by our generation and turn those insights into product ideas and useful information. Our aim is to help people pursue what matters to them at their own pace.
How we aim to support young people
1. Listen to everyday difficulties
We start with our own experiences and listen to the inconveniences people encounter while creating and learning. We focus on who is affected and in what situation.
2. Design around real situations
Our current product project is Ne9, inspired by art students whose hands are occupied or whose workspaces have little room for drinks. Those situations guide our thinking about the product format.
3. Share information that helps people choose
Through articles and videos, we explain product features, use and precautions so people can consider whether the product fits their lives.
From art students’ creative work to Ne9
Ne9 is one expression of this approach. It starts with the experience of working on art-school assignments right up to the deadline: both hands are occupied, going out to buy drinks takes time, and finding storage space is difficult. Some projects also require a workspace where water cannot be brought in.
We are developing the Ne9 caffeine pouch as an option for those situations. It is held in the mouth, needs no water or cup, and does not need to be held in the hands during use. The pouches can be carried in their tin. It is not a substitute for sleep or rest. Read the development story (Japanese).
Ne9 is being prepared for sale as a food product in Japan. It has not launched; the website currently accepts registrations for launch updates.

Why a pouch?
Ne9 is being developed as confectionery powder sealed in non-woven fabric for situations where handling a drink is inconvenient. Our aim is to explain the format, amounts, taste and use clearly before purchase.
